The Landmark Graduate Agronomist Program is a graduate position with long-term career prospects. Applications for the 2009 intake are now closed. Applications for 2010 will open in July 2009.

Multiple graduate opportunities are on offer in each of the following states:

  • Victoria
  • South Australia
  • Western Australia
  • Queensland
  • New South Wales

Successful graduates commence the program at a mutually agreed time from January. Structured rotations are undertaken to develop technical expertise in the areas of broad-acre cropping, pasture production and horticulture crops.

Throughout the 12-month program, graduates receive on-the-job education with experienced specialists, supplemented by training, mentoring and project work. Support and career advice is provided through multiple relationships. Graduates are assisted in determining their talents and passions, which helps guide their future career decisions. This exposure to the key activities of agronomy lays an important foundation for graduates to become experts in their field.

Graduates who successfully complete the program move into permanent positions with Landmark, applying for roles in agronomy, typically starting in sales and eventually leading to strategic farm service management. Opportunities for graduates who have successfully completed the program include:

State Activity Manager – Agronomy

 
National Activity Manager – Farm Services


Successful applicants must demonstrate:

  • degree qualification by the time the program starts in February 
  • strong affinity for, and an understanding of, the agribusiness industry 
  • ability to communicate effectively 
  • interpersonal skills 
  • self motivation 
  • analytical ability and numeracy 
  • ability and willingness to relocate 
  • ability to embody our values of integrity, accountability, teamwork and customer focus
